Menno Private Hospital opened its doors to the first residents in July 1960. By March 1965, the bed capacity had been increased from 39 to 75. The name was changed to Menno Hospital in December 1965 to coincide with the approval of government funding by the British Columbia Ministry of Health under the Hospital Act. Another major addition in 1992 brought the capacity to today's level of 151 beds.
