Menno Home has 150 volunteers who bring additional personal attention to our residents and offer extra hands for special functions. They lighten the load of the caregivers bringing special sunshine and caring to those in the facility, providing a key part of creative involvement for the 196 residents. Through visits, readings, music, crafts, bus trips and recreational activities, volunteers work with the Activity Staff to bring enjoyment and fulfillment to the residents.

Objectives of the Volunteer Program:

  • To demonstrate principles of Christian behavior in service.
  • To recognize the resident's need for privacy, independence, self-fulfillment and involvement in decision-making.
  • Create an environment in which the resident finds meaning and peace.
  • Support inter-personal relationships with residents and staff.
  • Support Menno Home's philosophy, objectives and policies.
  • Provide an essential link between residents and the community.

If you would wish to spend some time with our residents and participate in the volunteer program, we would like to hear from you.
